In this post, I have created a tutorial to bulk edit categories, author and status for posts, pages and custom post types in your WordPress blog. You can also bulk edit tags, allow or disallow comments, allow or disallow pings and make posts sticky for multiple posts at once.
To bulk edit status, categories, author, tags, allow or disallow comments, allow or disallow pings and make posts sticky for multiple posts at once in WordPress, follow the below given steps:
1) Go to Posts –> All Posts.
2) Click on the pull down tab Screen Options.
3) Under Show on screen, enter the number of posts which you want to bulk edit and then click on Apply. For Example, here I am selecting 50 posts to bulk edit.
4) Select a Post Status from where you want to bulk edit posts. For Example, here I am bulk editing posts from Draft Section. You can also filter the posts by using date and categories.
5) Select All Posts.
6) Select Edit from the Bulk Actions drop down menu and then click on Apply.
7) Now, you can bulk edit the following:
i) Remove posts from selection: You have the option to remove the posts from the bulk edit.
ii) Categories: You can bulk edit categories for the selected posts.
iii) Tags: You can bulk edit tags for the selected posts.
iv) Author: You can bulk edit author for the selected posts.
v) Comments: You can allow or disallow comments for the selected posts.
vi) Status: Change the selected posts status to Published, Private, Pending Review and Draft.
vii) Pings: You can allow or disallow pings for the selected posts.
viii) Sticky: You can make the selected posts sticky.
Similarly, you can bulk edit pages and custom post types in your WordPress blog.
