Flippa has reduced the standard listing fee for established websites, domains and apps. However, they have increased the percentage of success fee by 5%. People who are selling lower-end sites and domains in Flippa would certainly welcome the updated pricing structure.
Here is the comparison of previous listing fees and updated listing fees:
1) For established websites:
Before: $29 listing fee, 5% success fee
Now: $19 listing fee, 10% success fee
2) For domains:
Before: $29 listing fee, 5% success fee
Now: $9 listing fee, 10% success fee
3) For Apps:
Before: $29 listing fee, 5% success fee
Now: $19 listing fee, 10% success fee
So the updated fees for listing an established website, domain and apps is:
Listing fee for brand new websites remains the same: $9 listing fee, 15% success fee.
Implications of the updated fee:
i) Great for sellers who are selling low-end sites and domains: The above pricing structure is definitely great for sellers who are selling lower-end sites and domains which are under $200. Just after they have updated the pricing structure there has been a steady increase in the number of active listings in Flippa. Personally, I liked the domains listing fee of $9. I have started sorting the list of some of my newer domains which I earlier had planned to let it marinate for a few years.
ii) Not so great for sellers who are selling higher-end sites and domains: You can do the math to see that the earlier pricing structure was better for the higher-end sites.
